We look forward to hearing from you!"Fighting Kids" a cartoon series which aired from 1944 to 1956 and was sponsored by "Coca-Cola." The series featured caricatures of real-life children who regularly engaged in physical fights. On January 9, 2015, the company filed for bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware; an affiliate of the Lehman Brothers investment bank had acquired net assets of $34 million only four years earlier. In 2015 the company started a website, facebook page and youtube channel as a way of reconnecting with fans. In November 2015, the original 78 episodes of "fighting kids" were released on DVD, many of them still in their original kinescopes. The cartoons were fully colorized and remastered for this release, along with a bonus episode featuring a 1951 recording of a radio show called "Punch and Judy". For this release, surviving members from the original animation team were interviewed extensively for background information on their process and work with "fighting kids". From middle school students to prison inmates, from boxers to wrestlers - they've all been locked up in prison training camps. Note: the series was shortened to 25 episodes twice. As of March, 2018, Fighting Kids has received two nominations for the Nostalgia Award. This award is given by the Antique Vending Association Hall of Fame. The Nostalgia Award for this year was awarded to "Fighting Kids", which was nominated in the Animation category by Beverley Monk. Her collection now resides at Lighthouse Project, Inc., which is a non-profit organization she founded last year to raise money toward the purchase of an historic lighthouse that sits on top of Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes , Delaware OH USA, where she grew up. Fighting Kids won the Nostalgia Award in the Animation category. The Museum of Television and Radio, the Museum of Modern Art, and the National Film Preservation Foundation have all held screenings of "Fighting Kids" cartoons. These screenings have been accompanied by a panel discussion. The DVD version of "Fighting Kids", containing 16 episodes from each season, has been submitted to film festivals for possible screening.
